Introduction
Global citizenship education (GCED) is a form of civic learning that involves students' active participation in projects that address global issues of a social, political, economic, or environmental nature. These two main elements of GCE are 'global consciousness'; the moral or ethical aspect of global issues, and 'global competencies', or skills meant to enable learners to participate in changing and developing the world. In our globalized world, students must be ready to overcome the complex challenges of tomorrow as it is no longer enough to know what happens within the four walls of a classroom. The global citizen is thus vividly aware of the world around him or her, and desires to make it better.
In the context of the lack of world citizenship education in China, we are committed to organizing hands-on learning experiences to develop global citizens who think critically, communicate effectively and contribute passionately. These are invaluable learning moments that will not only better prepare students for higher education but also for a meaningful career and future.
In our past activities, we have actively promoted high-quality Model United Nations activities and established our brand - GBAMUN(Greater Bay Area Model United Nations) . Our conference participants have exceeded 1000 people, becoming one of the top Model United Nations conferences in China. In the spirit of professionalism, we have developed standardized Model United Nations training materials, and have provided public benefit academic lectures to many high schools and universities. We also invited famous scholars to write articles on public social platforms to encourage young people to pay attention to and explore international issues. We are also going to hold the first Global Civic Education (GCE) Summer Camp for Chinese Youth this summer.
