From February 5th to 8th, 2021, the 2021 Greater Bay Area Model United Nations Conference Winter Conference (GBAMUNws2021) hosted by GBAMUN Bay Area Model Union was successfully held. During the three-day and eight-session formal meeting, more than a hundred young representatives from 19 universities and 25 high schools in 15 provinces, regions, and municipalities across the country gathered in the cloud and were divided into four committees to focus on "European Security in the Post-Cold War Era" In-depth discussions were held on topics such as "governance", "Legal Issues of Autonomous Vehicles", and "Children in the Data Age".
Even though the epidemic has separated the delegates from the north to the south, it does not affect everyone's enthusiasm in the least. In front of the camera, the delegates either raised placards to move or "deduct one sign", actively participating in the process of the meeting time and time again, promoting the exchange of opinions and the formation of consensus. In the end, multiple documents were produced in each venue, which contained the creative thoughts and opinions of young people.
During the period, the conference organizing committee and academic team also organized an online "academic tea party", inviting guests on the two themes of "from vaccine research and development to environmental protection-quantitative policy analysis" and "legal analysis of surrogacy behavior in the Chinese context" Interactively share with the representative, and brainstorm a little outside the formal meeting process.

After a year and a half, I got the familiar representative card again, put on a suit, and started the long-lost MUN journey in the "now we will do the role call" announcement that the chairman is familiar with.
At the beginning, I didn't expect to be able to continue participating in the MUN during college. At that time, I just mentioned it accidentally with my high school teammates. It seemed that I was reunited with old friends and signed up without thinking about it.
The last time I participated in such a regional conference was at BIMUN in 2018. At that time, I was still a young student in high school. Since then, I had to prepare and nervous for a long time for a motion, and now I can take the initiative to negotiate and speak with confidence. I have really grown a lot in the three years I have been with MUN.
Unfortunately, the long-awaited offline meeting was changed to online due to the epidemic. Although the experience of attending the meeting was greatly reduced, as a "MUN elder", this time I still have a learning mentality. The three-day revolving conference did not disappoint me—the form has changed, but the core has not changed. At the beginning, I was worried about the online meeting, but after personal experience, I found that the online meeting provided each representative with a more efficient negotiation environment and agenda promotion mechanism, and the division of labor between representatives was more clear. The sense of participation has not decreased but increased, which is my biggest gain in the past three days.
I am very happy to be able to continue to do things we all like with the past teammates in the three days of UNICEF. Every time we discuss and speak, we can bring ourselves back to every school-level and provincial-level meeting in high school. Scene. A year and a half ago, each of us was a school representative. Today, as individual representatives, we are reunited here to conduct academic discussions. This opportunity is really precious to ourselves.

In the short three-day meeting, I was full of emotions in my heart. As if passing through a dream, the dream came to an end quietly.
The purpose of participating in this Bay Area Model Union is not only because the conditions for participation announced by the Bay Area Model Union at the beginning are particularly attractive (daily refreshments in Guangzhou and evening representative tea parties), even though it will be changed to an online conference later. (The organizing committee also prepared for us special gifts in Guangzhou, as well as various materials for epidemic prevention and high-level MUN participants.) As an English novice and a beginner in MUN, compared with the experienced college students of MUN, I learned a lot in this conference. Although at first my partner left the meeting for personal reasons. This time, the Bay Area MUN made me feel particularly deeply about the essential feelings that MUN brought to me. The first time I participated in the MUN English field is still very nervous, because my English is not very good, the Greater Bay Area MUN English field is really like a "fairy fight". At the meeting, we reached a lot of consensus, such as the construction of network infrastructure, and also conducted in-depth discussions on issues such as children's online violence. During my time in the MUN, because I was a single representative, I had many ideas, so during the two nights during the MUN, I wrote the article until late at night, but whenever I published it the next day, I felt happy and proud. . Throughout the MUN, I submitted 3 work papers and reached an agreement with China on online Confucius Institutes. Finally, the Application Form received active participation from 10 countries on the assistance of countries around the world to Africa during and after the epidemic. , And finally passed with a high number of votes.
This time, the MUN also made me more determined to study English seriously. The sudden counterattack of the epidemic turned the meeting I had been looking forward to online, but this meeting did not disappoint me. Instead, it gave me a whole new experience. The enthusiasm and enthusiasm of the representatives made me almost forget that everyone is separated by hundreds of miles, and geographical barriers do not prevent the hearts of the representatives from being closely connected. People did not slack off because they were left unattended at home, instead they actively used online tools to conduct consultations. In addition, the advantages of online meetings are well reflected in document writing. Compared with the inconvenient recording of verbal communication during offline meetings and consultations, online meetings allow us to record each other’s ideas in written form. This Bay Area Model United Nations is the seventh time I personally participated in the Model United Nations, and it is also the best online meeting to experience. I express my appreciation for the hard work of the presidium. I was deeply impressed by the wisdom and tenacity of the representatives at the CSCE Foreign Ministers' Meeting where I was at, and I also learned a lot from them.
Although Model United Nations is a kind of simulation experience activity, I think it has a great effect on our daily learning, development and growth, and theoretical practice. Many MUN people have become friends because of this. I hope that in the days to come, we will continue to improve and continue to struggle in the world of MUN.

I am very happy to end the 3-day online GBA MUN trip. Recalling the disappointment and anxiety of transferring from offline to online, and the tension and excitement of everyone when breaking the ice, the great joy and compassion during the meeting are really mixed. The warm-hearted Guangzhou restaurant souvenir from the organizing committee filled my regret that I could not have tea and tea with the delegates. This time, the topic design of the 2021 Greater Bay Area Road Traffic Safety Seminar is very realistic, and I am also very interested in this topic. However, because most of the delegates at the conference are majoring in illegal studies, it is actually quite difficult when the law committee is opened, but the question-and-answer session after the conference is very good, which can solve the legal questions of the delegates. . First of all, I think the GBA organizing committee is very considerate. After the offline meeting was switched to the online meeting due to the epidemic, a copy of the materials was mailed home, including the coffee break and basic materials, and they were very careful. Secondly, at the venue, the chairpersons are very cute, and the order of the venue is very stable. From my experience of one or two online meetings, I feel that GBA is doing relatively well.
