Engineering Program | Unmanned vehicle vision system development

We invited Dr. Hu from the Department of Computer Science, National University of Singapore to offer an online scientific research course "Development of Vision System for Unmanned Vehicles". This subject will study the related knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms, and understand the working principle of the vision system of unmanned vehicles. Through support vector machine and convolutional neural network methods, explore ways to improve the accuracy of unmanned driving systems in the recognition of traffic signs. At the same time, explore the role of HOG feature detection algorithms in recognizing car features in the scene to improve the accuracy of recognition and detection.

If you are interested in the deep learning of driverless technology, computer vision, computer algorithm software, etc., join Dr. Hu to learn the knowledge contained in driverless driving!

Project implementation

The first stage: concept learning

Instruct students to understand the concept of the subject and understand the history of the invention of driverless technology and its development status. Read the relevant literature to further learn about the invention and progress of unmanned driving technology in the world today. Learning related software tools: Python, Numpy, Sklearn, Opencv, Keras, Tensorflow, etc.

The second stage: algorithm learning

Learning includes logistic regression, support vector machines, and convolutional neural networks and other related machine learning algorithms, and using software for algorithm analysis.

The third stage: optimization summary

Summarize the main points of knowledge of machine learning algorithms based on deep neural networks, combine algorithm learning with unmanned driving research hotspots, and complete vehicle detection and traffic sign recognition on unmanned car camera images. Finally, the doctoral tutor guides students to write academic papers. After mastering the writing methods of each part of the paper, students can independently complete a standardized academic paper.
